Eve

EVE IS... a film about faith, family, friendship and a love story gone awry.
WHY?... to take people into our world and show them that you're never more than seconds away from your next laugh.
WHERE?... Liverpool. A vibrant, young, modern Liverpool.
HOW?... on the biggest canvas of all, Eve's story plays out as follows…

The Movie

Eve is a comedy centering on Eve Foley, our heroine, and her struggle with the transition from teenager to adult. Eve, and her closest friend Hayley Jackson, are Jehovah's Witnesses. Protected from the temptations of the modern world - men, drink, TV, socialising outside of the faith - Eve begins to question what she can and can't do.

In the office where they work, their religion is their secret. Working and worshipping together, both are conscious of the things that go on outside of their shrunken world. Whereas Hayley is happy to dodge and confront these things with faith, Eve is reluctant - mainly due to the feelings she has for her colleague, Craig. Hayley, unable to hold it in any longer, ignores Eve's wishes and blows their cover.

Eve's belief wobbles. She realises that whilst her attraction to Craig grows, the feeling is mutual. The seeds are sown and the relationship tentatively develops... which throws Eve's family life into turmoil and Eve out onto the street. Betrayed by everyone close to her, she falls headlong into Craig's world.

Hayley is lost, alone with a faith that doesn't seem to fill the void any more. Until Leanne - a no-nonsense new employee, oblivious to the office politics - confronts her with another way of life.

Eve finds herself fighting against Craig's desire to settle down. Craig selfishly takes the decision to accept a job in London, which is the final straw for Eve. Emboldened by her reunion with a more tolerant and remorseful Hayley, she lets Craig head down the motorway alone.

In the midst of the bliss of freedom, things begin to unravel and the broken strands of Eve's life align: her father is involved in a car crash, her mother edges back into her life, she reconciles with her best friend Hayley, and Francis emerges as a potential suitor. The shackles of religion loom again...

And Eve is forced to confront her future head on...
